About telik
“Telik” NGO was founded in the Tavush region with the aim of preserving and developing the traditional crafts of the region. Our activities combine tradition and innovation to create unique and high-quality textile products. We support women by enhancing their creative skills and creating sustainable sources of income.
Master classes are diverse and can accommodate up to twenty visitors simultaneously. Carpet weaving and rug making are taught on small looms under the supervision of a master. Upon completing the work, visitors can take home their self-made items – a carpet, rug, or embroidered piece – as souvenirs.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore the handcrafted items available for sale at the centre. Telik additionally offers a tour of the centre, where guests can observe artisans creating handmade items. The experience is suitable for family visits. Services are provided in Armenian and Russian, with a translator available in English.
The master classes organized here are designed to introduce Tavush’s artisanal environment to tourist groups and individuals. These master classes last 1.5 to 2 hours, during which visitors actively participate and create Armenian ornaments.
